About
Well hello there random Internet user. I am happy you stumbled upon my little blog and decided to find out more about me. Amazingly, I’m better at talking about myself in person rather than online. Strange, right? Well nothing about me is normal. Some day I might even share more with you. For now…
My name is Charlie. I originally purchased cdycus.net with high school graduation money because I thought “.net” sounded cooler than “.com”. Sometime later I worked for a small web design business in Bell Buckle, TN. They apparently had some shady business practices (e.g. poaching clients) and one of the other businesses (now called New Visions Design) was a little upset. Reid, the owner and only employee of New Visions, knew i worked there and assumed I was guilty by association. I went to high school with his son, so he took it upon himself to attack me.
I received an email from lecturing me about web design and business practices on the web. He registered cdycus.com to teach me a lesson. As you can see, I know own that domain so this story did have a happy ending. We had a few angry emails back and forth, but eventually we realized we were more friends than enemies. I stopped working for the shady business and did some freelance work for Reid. We still keep in touch to this day.
I still do random freelance work for friends, but I’ve never seen web design / hosting as a career choice I could ever make. I get the itch occasionally and will try out the “latest and greatest” Internet technology. Let’s see how long this fad lasts for me
