I am going to label this trip as "Spoiled Forever" because I not only had great seats for each event, but also because I was able to visit a lot with family.
Basketball Senior Night… The Trip.
In the excitement of a big OT win over Northwestern on January 11th, I decided I wanted to go to a Michigan basketball home game this season. I started watching Michigan bball again after RR's first football season and I needed something... ANYTHING maize & blue to give my attention to. This also was Zack Novak and Stu Douglass's freshman season. Their story has been told a lot lately and will continue to be told, but the reality is I just needed to cheer for them once at Crisler [side note: I did cheer for them at the Old Spice Classic in Orlando]

The only feasible games were February 18th vs OHIO and February 25th vs Purdue. The OHIO game was already sold out, so the decision was pretty easy. One thing I didn't consider was that it would actually be winter in Michigan, so there was a potential for snow. Luckily that didn't actually happen...
Hello there, 2012
I am going to try and type up a 2011 recap, a NYE trip review and take a look at some potential PSW destinations for the upcoming year.
Perfect Sports Weekend IV: Illinois
November 12-14, 2011
Michigan Wolverines at Illinois Fighting Illini (Memorial Stadium)
Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears (Soldier Field)
Chicago Blackhawks vs Edmonton Oilers (United Center)
This was definitely the weekend of changing schedules. The Michigan/Illinois game should have been at 12noon, but wasn't. The Lions/Bears game was originally set for 12noon and then changed to a 3:15pm start. We ended up only seeing the 3rd period of the Blackhawks/Oilers game, but I did get greeted with a "Detroit Sucks" chant by our section. Also, I got to see the Jordan statue!

Homecoming Weekend 2011
I have had the tickets for the Michigan's Homecoming game against Purdue for some time. What I didn't know is that it would be a true homecoming to Michigan for me.
I drove up early Friday morning with my dad. We made it to Michigan in good time and drove all around Monroe to see different places we lived and visited. We were able to see the houses I remember the most (on Goutz Rd and on Dixie Hwy), in addition to a house I have heard many things about (Steffas Rd). The house on Steffas was the one my mom and dad lived at when I was born. It was where I spent my first couple years in this world. The nostalgia continued as we ate lunch at Detroit Beach Pizzeria. You know it's a good day when you can get some mostaccioli casserole and pizza.

Our weekend had just begun... there were games to attend! Details after the jump.
